ABS/PC (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene + polycarbonate)

The manufactured sheets based on the composition of ABS plastic and polycarbonate have higher shock resistance than that based on ABS plastic only. Index of shock resistance can be changed by changing the proportion of polycarbonate in a sheet. By increasing the proportion of polycarbonate, a plastic sheet becomes more heat resistant. Such sheet has a good resistance to solutions, alcohols and oils.

SCOPE

Mostly this material is used in the automotive industry for the manufacturing of external and internal vehicle finishing. Also welfare items, sports goods, the cases of different devices and household appliances are made from this composition, as well as exterior parts of buses and cars, electrical and electronic appliances, the cases of household and office appliances, sports goods.

ABS/PC FEATURES (POLYCARBONATE + ACRYLONITRILE BUTADIENE STYRENE)

ABS/PC plastic sheet is a sheet made of composite material, the basis of which is polycarbonate (PC) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), making an excellent combination of mechanical, thermal and rheological properties. Items made of ABS/PC have a good surface quality, rigidity, high resistance to cracking, heat resistance, high impact strength at low temperatures.

CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

ABS/PC plastic has good resistance to long-term exposure of weather factors, resistance to alcohols, salt solutions and oils. It may crack, when exposed to alkalis, aliphatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

ABS/PC plastic has good rigidity, high impact resistance at low temperatures, high heat resistance, low tendency to deformation.

ELECTRICAL INSULATING PROPERTIES

This composition is a good dielectric. Dielectric strength = 20-30 kV/mm, volume resistivity = 1016 ohm * cm

OPERATING TEMPERATURE

maximum temperature of long-term operation is 100°С, minimum — 40°C.
