ABS/ASA plastic sheet
ASA/ABS plastic sheet is a multilayer sheet. It combines the high mechanical strength of ABS plastic, which is preserved even at sub-zero temperatures, and excellent resistance to weathering and UV radiation, which is provided by the layer of ASA (copolymer of acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate).
The surface of ASA/ABS sheet plastic can be matte or glossy (like the surface of ABS/PMMA). However, unlike the latter, the ASA/ABS plastic sheet has a higher impact resistance and resistance to bending. ASA/ABS is characterized by chemical inertness to oils, greases, diluted salts, alkalis and dilute acids. Plastic sheet is not resistant to concentrated solutions and organic solvents.
As the material for gluing, methyl ethyl ketones or two-component adhesives can be used.
ASA/ABS plastic sheet can be processed by milling, bonding, laser cutting, welding, cutting, frictional, thermal and ultrasonic welding.
ASA/ABS can be successfully used for manufacturing thermoformed parts for both internal and external finishing of cars, buses, tractors, etc. (panels, roof moldings, radiator grilles, etc.), furniture, suitcases, outdoor advertising, lighting, housings for household appliances, construction, etc.:
